What is it?

With the RE-600, it’s all about transparency and accuracy. While you might
think that’s a given with all audiophile headphones, most have at least some
bass bulge or midrange enhancement. The RE-600 plays it straight down the
middle.

The RE-600, is unusually small and lightweight. Its tiny size makes a big
difference in comfort, so after a few minutes, it’s easy to forget you’re
wearing headphones. The company is tight-lipped about most of the details of
the design, other than to say the gloss-black/machined-aluminum earpieces are
fitted with an 8.5mm titanium-coated driver. During the course of developing
the RE-600, Hifiman’s founder, Dr. Fang Bian, hand-built and critiqued more
than 200 prototypes. He’s a tough critic.

When it comes to accessories, you are covered with an abundance of eartips,
even redundant spares. You get 3 pairs of the same small bi-flange tips, 2
pairs of the same large bi-flange tips, 2 pairs of the same small mono-flange
tips with a cross-bar across the opening, 1 pair of small mono-flange tips
that look like they have a molded bi-flange, and 3 pairs of silicone custom
large tips in a unique straight and angled designs. These custom silicone tips
are priceless since they have a very comfortable and secure fitment and form a
great seal to attenuate the external noise.

How does it work?

RE-600 adopts a 4-pin balanced output In-Ear Monitor (IEM) design with the
left and right channel using separate ground cables, which in turn, can
significantly reduce the signal crosstalk.

RE-600 features advanced ergonomics for superb fit and comfort along with
premium materials such as a Titanium Diaphragm and Neodymium magnet. The all-
new 8.5mm driver is patented and represents the Filter Diaphragm Coil best-in-
class sound quality and performance.

Patented composite cable comprised of crystal copper and crystal silver,
delivers lifelike clarity, superb imaging and musicality. The supplied 4-pin
balanced to 3-pin normal adapter enables you to use the In-Ear Monitor (IEM)
with most portable music devices.
